White Swan

Jehovah created the swan to beautify paradise. With their beaks, they clean the white feathers. They don’t fly. White swans live from a lake to the other decorating the landscape with their shapes and colors. They are widely used to beautify palace gardens.

One day a flock of ducks flew by making a lot of noise, towards new places. The white swan wondered: “Why can’t I fly like them? I’ll fly too!” And he started training.

But the most he could do was jump. It is true that they were getting bigger. Until he found out he could use the wings. And he started to fly a few yards – 5, 10, 500 yards – and learned to take long flights.

When the flock of ducks passed again, it took to the air and off he went all happy with the flock. But just ahead was a group of hunters. And when they saw that beautiful white swan, bigger than any other duck in the flock, they had no doubts. With a clear shot the swan landed to its death.

Dear young brothers and sisters, do not want to fly out into the world, where you will stand out like white swans among ugly ducks.

You young people are like the white swan. You beautify meetings, field service, assemblies, congresses and our lives as well. Both the young sisters and brothers are handsome, modestly dressed and always clean. (Proverbs 20:29a)

To the world, you are even more attractive. At school, at work, in places of play. Especially for dating. The sisters try not to wear provocative clothes, tight to the body, or wanting to keep up with fashion becoming insinuating. They are polite and do not use vulgar language.

Brothers wear their hair neatly trimmed. They don’t swear, don’t wear baggy pants, don’t wear piercings, much less body tattoos. Rest assured that this difference, without extravagances, is very noticeable around the world.

In this way, do not want to fly out into the world, where you will stand out like white swans among ugly ducks. In the world you will be noticed by the great hunter and sniper Satan the Devil. This one is trying to bring you down.

The brothers and sisters want you with them, beautifying the meetings.
All need you decorating the field service, serving the great Creator, Jehovah God.

Think about it!

Ecclesiastes 11:9,10 says:
Rejoice, young man, while you are young, and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and go where your eyes lead you; but know that the true God will bring you into judgment for all these things. So remove troublesome things from your heart, and ward off harmful things from your body, for youth and the prime of life are futility.

I really enjoyed that illustration with the Swan. I will share that with my daughters and the young ones in my congregation.
