The 100 Dollar Bill

A brother who was a speaker once began his speech holding a $100.00 bill. He looked at the audience and asked:
– Who among you wants this $100.00?
Everyone raised their hands… Then he said:
– I will give this note to one of you tonight, but first, let me do something with this bill.
Then, he crumpled the bill completely with his hands, while the audience watched, not knowing what was happening. When the brother finished crumpling the bill, he asked again:
– Who still wants this bill?
To which everyone kept their hands raised, so he continued:
– And if I do that?
He let the bill fall to the floor, began to step on it and rub it with his foot, leaving it dirty. Then, he picked up the bill, now filthy and crumpled, and asked:
– What about now?

The audience, finding what the brother was doing a bit funny, continued to raise their hands as a sign that they would still like to have that $100.00 bill. The speaker took the bill and made a small tear in it. And he asked his last question:
– Who still wants this $100.00 bill?
Even with the $100.00 bill all crumpled, trampled, dirty and torn, all the hands went up again.
The speaker turned to the audience and said he would explain why he had given the money note such a beating:
– No matter what I do with the money, you will still want this bill, because you know that after everything that has happened, it has not lost its value.
“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
This situation also happens to us. Many times, in our lives, we are crushed, trampled, humiliated, hurt and we end up feeling unimportant.
But it doesn’t matter, we will never lose our value before Jehovah.
Dirty or clean, wrinkled or whole, sick or healthy, thin or fat, tall or short, none of those matters!
None of that changes the importance we have! The price of our lives is not what we appear to be, but what we know and what we strive to do.
The value of our lives has a price that shows how valuable we are, our lives have the value of the blood of the son of God! So, never feel unvalued.
