Family Worship – tip 5

Family Worship

TIP 5

Christian qualities.

Family without children

Make a list of the Christian qualities described in Galatians, then cut out each one, fold it and place it in a small jar. Ask each member of the family to take one or two pieces of paper in advance. Ask them to do research on the Christian quality (s) they have taken. For example, which biblical character demonstrated this quality? What else does the Bible say about it? How to put it into practice? How to improve it? Then, in your family worship, each one will present their research on Christian qualities. You can repeat the activity until you run out of paper.

Family with children - teenagers

Make a list of the Christian qualities described in Galatians, then cut out each one, fold it and place it in a small jar. Ask each family member to take a piece of paper in advance. Ask each person to do a survey of the Christian quality that they took before family worship. For example, which biblical character demonstrated this quality? What else does the Bible say about it? How to put it into practice? How to improve it? Ask them to pay attention to their daily lives to see when and how they could have applied or if applied the Christian quality they raffled. Then, in your family worship, each one will present their research and comment when they could have applied that quality in their daily lives or if they applied it. You can repeat the activity until you run out of paper.

Family with children - children

Make a list of the Christian qualities described in Galatians and for each one search for biblical characters who demonstrated them. Then, take a piece of cardboard or kraft paper (it cannot be small), tape it to the wall at a height that your children can reach. Then, take the list of Christian qualities and ask your children to write each one on the paper taped to the wall. If they don’t know how to write, write yourself with their help. For each written quality, ask them if they remember someone (biblical character) who has demonstrated it. Talk and remember the account and then ask how each one can demonstrate that quality and why it is important. You can do all the qualities at once or divide them into more times, depending on your children’s ability and age. When they are finished, challenge them to apply one of the Christian qualities they studied during the week. A tip is to put candies or any colorful candy they like in a container, each color requires a different quality that must be demonstrated. For example:

  • Blue – Love
  • Green – Self-control
  • Yellow – Patience
  • Orange – Joy
  • Red – Faith
  • Black – Mildness

Put this color legend on the container where the sweets will be.
