Between “D” Day And “V” Day

During World War II, Allied Forces burst onto the beaches of Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944 – now known as “D” Day.

That battle was the defining point of the conflict. For all intents and purposes, the Allies won World War II that day. That’s why this day was so important to world history.

Still, the Germans and Japanese did not officially sign the terms of surrender, this only happened the following year. The time between “D” Day and “V” Day of victory was the bloodiest and most brutal of the entire war! More people died this year than any other! But why did this happen?

Because the enemy forces knew they had little time left and so they fought mightily and desperately.

Even though they knew they would lose the war, they did their best to destroy the enemy, even executing some prisoners in concentration camps.

Ephesians 6:12 says: "because we have a struggle, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places."

Today it is not different, we find ourselves right between “D” Day and “V” Day of victory. But how so?

Well, Satan was already defeated when Jesus was killed on the torture stake, that was “D” Day. But until Jesus returns victorious to officially establish his kingdom and force Satan to surrender all authority to him, we are in the last moments of the war.

So we must beware of our enemy and remain vigilant.
