The Discouragement

One day, Jehovah realized that one of his servants on earth was very discouraged, so he said to him:

“My son, I have a mission for you. Do you remember that huge rock near your house? I want you to push it non-stop, push it with all your strength and all your will, rain or shine. ”

The man, who had been surprised, replied, “Yes, my God, I will fulfill this mission.”

He decided to obey, even without fully understanding that request.

Day after day he worked hard and struggled pushing the rock with all his will and strength, but it did not move.

The man returned home bored each night, feeling that his effort had been in vain.

Satan, realizing the man’s discouragement, decided to intervene by putting negative thoughts in his unmotivated mind, in order to discourage him so that he gave up the mission that God had entrusted to him, and said:

“Every day you have been pushing this stone, but it still hasn’t moved. Isn’t it better to give up? Let someone else do that. ”

These thoughts began to undermine his spirit and make he feel worthless, frustrated. So, already thinking about giving up, he raised his thoughts in prayer and said:

“My God, Jehovah, I have done exactly what the Lord sent me, with all my will and all my strength, however, after all this time, I was unable to make the rock move even a millimeter. What am I doing wrong? Why have I failed? “

Then Jehovah, knowing the affliction that took hold of that heart, answered him:

“My son, when I gave you this mission, I explained to you that your job would be to push the rock every day, and you have done that.

However, I never told you that it should move. Why do you think you failed? Look at your arms and legs and see how they are stronger and firmer. All of this makes you better than before, because you are stronger now.

Note that your task was to push the rock, exercising your trust in my Word. You did exactly what I asked and when the time comes, I will move the rock. “

"Adversity comes, but the order is: push the rock, with faith and confidence".

Sometimes you may be trying to decipher what God wants from you, when in fact what He wants is just your obedience and faith.

So when you feel unmotivated or when you feel you are failing, when work makes you upset, when your money gets scarce, when people don’t act as you expect, just push your rock and trust in Jehovah.

Day after day push your rock, because in time, He will reveal what are His purposes for your life and He will move it for you.

For now, there will always be adversities in life, but the order is to push the rock, with faith and confidence.

Persevere and don’t give up, Jehovah God will move the rock… or leave it there for a while, to allow you to continue pushing, until you become as strong as He wants.

"Note that your task was to push the rock, exercising your strength and trust in my Word, and when the time comes, I will move the rock".
